Lynn Barber’s memoir of teenage life is blessed with an excellent Nick Hornby script and performances to match, led by BAFTA-winning Carey Mulligan in a career-changing role. Should she stay at school for her A-levels or escape for a hedonistic life with the crowd she falls into after meeting a seductive older man (superbly played by Peter Sarsgaard)?
