Jonas, a crime-scene photographer, causes a car crash and then visits the amnesiac victim, Julia, in hospital, where her parents mistake him for her lover. He is tempted and gradually succumbs to trading his humdrum life for a new one, falling in love with Julia. This thriller has all the elements of a classic film noir as the twisting plot embroils Jonas with gangsters and ultimately confronts him with his folly.
