The second half of the two-part biopic, concluding from last week. It is the early 1970s, and Mesrine gets collared by top cop Broussard. Mesrine wants to be caught because he is developing a fatal taste for showing off to the press in court. He becomes a publicity addict and convinces himself and the papers that he is a revolutionary in spirit. With ego comes mania, typified by a disturbing sequence where he abducts and tortures a journalist who mocks his pretensions.
