Do-joon, a simpleton, follows a girl home after a drunken night out. When her corpse turns up next day he – unable to remember anything – signs a confession. What follows is a sublime performance by Hye-ja Kim as the eponymous mother, doing her own detective work and searching desperately to find the real murderer.
