This police procedural, leavened with black humour, concerns a plain-clothed
policeman investigating teenage drug users. Echoes of the police state that Romania
recently was, and of Orwell’s 1984, infuse the film. The policeman becomes
increasingly uneasy about the hard-line approach of his bosses, who exude chilly
geniality.
