Sin Nombre

Sayra is a teenage Honduran girl. She and her family are desperate to get into the United States, hoping to make a better life with relatives already living there. To do this they have to cross Mexico by freight train, running the gauntlet of gangs whose main activity is preying on the migrants. A friendship develops between Sayra and one of the gang. This powerful movie, which won awards at Sundance, shines light into a world that is almost beyond our imaginations, but which is the everyday lot of millions. If you admired La Zona but wondered what was outside the fence, this film will give you some idea.
